Throughout all of our imperfections as a country and a society, we are perfect.
If you think racism is a problem in the U.S. you should really travel abroad and see how racism in other countries mean mass slaughters and not employee preference. If you think poverty is an issue, you should see the MILLIONS of people that die from hunger in almost every country below the equator. If you think Imperialism is bad, given a chance, every other country in the world would do what we do or worse. You think religion plays too big of a part in government, know that there are places where religion is the government.
No matter what a person brings to the table to criticize this country or its people, one cannot ignore that America is unique in how it always evolves for the best. In no other country in the world, a president is elected from the minority group that couldn't eat at the same restaurant as the majority group 40 years ago. In no other country a person can make themselves rich from nothing by working hard. In no other country I would rather live but here.
Having said all that, we cannot bask in our own greatness and brag about our accomplishments from yesterday, because we need to do something today to brag about tomorrow.
Amen brother
ReplyDeleteAmerica is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination
ReplyDeleteThe problem of the Americans (conservative and liberal) is the 'natural' LIMIT for their imagination. They just can not think about another style of life, change of the way of thinking, or even make a one inch step towards ACCEPT other's opinion.
